They won the Big East regular season with a 35-5 record, earning a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats defeated UNC Asheville, Iowa, Miami, and top seed Kansas to reach the Final Four. They then routed Oklahoma and defeated North Carolina in a thrilling National Championship game, winning their second title in school history on a last-second three-pointer by Kris Jenkins, assisted by Ryan Arcidiacono.
